The Load HDF Product Selection Widgets

Description:  This procedure reads any HDF file which contains one or more 2-dimensional Scientific Data Sets (SDSs). To select this option, use the menu option Load->HDF.

Navigation will be available if the HDF file contains both a Latitude and Longitude 2-dimensional SDS. This pair of lat/lon SDSs MUST follow one of the following naming conventions:

As in previous versions of SeaDAS, HDF navigation will also be available for images in a regular grid, whose HDF headers contain the same navigation extents fields as those found in SeaDAS SMI products. (e.g. "Northernmost Latitude", "Southernmost Latitude", Westernmost Longitude", "Easternmost Longitude", etc.)

Once HDF images are loaded, they can be used with full SeaDAS image processing functions (grid, coastline, rline, shiptrack, image merging, remapping, etc.).

Note:  There is no hard-coded limit to the number of files loaded into memory at one time. The only limit is the memory limit of your machine.
