The Load AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC Product Selection Widget

Description: This procedure makes available for loading either of two AVHRR SST HDF formats distributed by the JPL PO.DAAC:

Pathfinder Best SST (9km, 18km or 54 km) - (see http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/sst)
MCSST (18 km) - (see http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/mcsst)

The two data formats contain the following products:

AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC Pathfinder Best SST data grids:

Sea Surface Temperature	0 = Land or no data mask
Number of Observations per Bin	0 = Land or no data mask

AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC MCSST data grids:

Multi-Channel Sea Surface Temperature	0 = missing data 255 = land
Interpolated MCSST	0 = missing data 255 = land
Flag and Number of Observations MCSST	0 = missing data 254=ice 255=land

These products can be subset and/or subsampled upon loading. They can also be wrapped in the longitude direction.

Action Items:

AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC HDF Filename Manually entered file name. See Select button for interactively selecting a filename. An interactively selected filename will also appear in this field.

Select Interactively select an AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC HDF input file.

Dimension Information describing the number of pixels x number of rows in each scientific dataset.

Pixel Sample Rate The subsampling rate in the pixel dimension (default is 4).

Line Sample Rate The subsampling rate in the line dimension (default is 4).

Load Palette Automatically store the palette associated with the specified products into the loaded band. (Default)

Subsetting parameters The following inputs allow the user to subset the AVHRR data while loading it. Subsetting may be accomplished by either specifying the lat/lon range desired or the pixel/line range desired. Modifying pixel/line range values will cause the lat/lon range values to automatically recalculate and vice versa.

Lat range (N/S) The northern and southern latititude limits to be used for subsetting in the line dimension.

Line range The line range to be used for subsetting.

Lon range (W/E) The westernmost and easternmost longitude limits to be used for subsetting in the pixel dimension.

Pixel range The pixel range to be used for subsetting.

Select One or Many Products Select as many of the products listed in the product list that you would like to load at one time.

Quit Delete the Selection For AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC widget. Products already loaded into memory will still be available.

Select None Mark all products to be unselected.

Load Read data product into memory, add to available band list, and make available for display.
